Acoustic guitar srtings help?
I have a Fender acoustic, and the strings are way to close to the fretboard. The guitar pins on the bridge are to big and don’t fit all the way into the hole, could that be the problem? Or do i need lighter strings?
First, the strings are too close because the truss rod needs to be loosen 1.4 turn counter-clcokwise. Their has to be a gap of approx. 1/16″ between the string and fingerboard in the middle.
As for lighter strings, this will remove tension and lower the action much more.
As for the pins, it is normal and better if they don’t go all the way down. Eventually, they will get used and descend lower.
