Gibson Les Paul Doublecut
The Gibson Les Paul Doublecut is a double-cut version of the Gibson Les Paul electric guitar.
Except Gibson Custom Shop / historical models, there are currently four types of model double-cut Les Paul, all of which have been discontinued:

The Doublecut discolored stems from the Doublecut Les Paul, a guitar all mahogany flat top with P-90 pickups from first place of 19581960. The "Faded" model is so called because they have a bright nitrocellulose finish and has a "tear" marks added to the factory for make the guitar look aged. The body is made of mahogany multiple (usually four) pieces and comes with a gig bag (as opposed to a hard- cases).
The Doublecut was a major design change: the original models had the neck pickup mounted near the neck or body to join led (apparently) in a weak neck join. This was changed by the movement of the neck pick up more in the body.
The "Doublecut Faded" is a a series (at least from 2007!) "disappeared" models is the SG, Les Paul (with humbuckers single cut) and V. flight All these models are made in the U.S..
It is also one of the cheapest available Les Paul guitars. It seems that Gibson has decided to suspend most of the lines are faded, as double-cut Les Paul Special for 2009 lineup.

For many years after 1960 without Doublecut Les Paul guitars were produced by Gibson, as Gibson doublecut Les Paul started doing again, is reissued following closely the original Les Paul Special with flat top (not arched maple top) design, with P-90 pickups instead of humbuckers. Meanwhile, during the 1970's, a small boutique producer U.S. Guitar, Hamer, began to make both flat top and doublecutaway upper arch guitars like Gibson designs then latent. These versions of doublecutaway Hamer Les Paul has a lot of publicity for use by members of the rock band Cheap Trick and others.
The Les Paul Standard and Pro models of doublecut LP is a new concept, based on an arch-top Les Paul with humbuckers, similar to the design Hamer. The Pro has 22 frets, the Standard has 24 frets. Unlike other two-a single cut pickup Les Pauls, Gibson doublecutaway these versions has a master volume and tone control teacher (Singlecut Les Paul with two pads have two sets of volume and tone controls, one for each pickup). Many believe that these new doublecut archtop Les Pauls were developed in response to high-end guitars Paul Reed Smith competitor Gibson, PRS guitars which more typically have a doublecut design and the main tone and volume controls, and the production finally moved from a small shop (like Hamer maintained) for a production line Gibson rival. This view is reinforced by the fact that the first curve doublecut Gibson Les Pauls, the now discontinued doublecut Les Paul Studio (produced in late 1990), had 24 frets, unlike most Gibson standard 22 frets. 24 fret neck is present in some PRS guitars, and is more popular among heavy metal players who are often alone at the top of neck. Thus, the Gibson Les Paul doublecut curve models are seen by many as one of Gibson offers to stay competitive with more "modern" rock oriented guitarists, although many owners doublecut not play metal or similar styles.
Another version of the Doublecut Les Paul is the Les Paul Junior Doublecut. Like Junior Singlecut LP version, which has a single "dog-eared" P-90 single coil. This doublecut Les Paul is currently only available as a Gibson Custom Shop / Historic Reissue model, called the "1958 Junior Doublecut." The Junior, in form and doublecut Singlecut, Gibson was originally " student "model. The initial price of the Les Paul Junior was originally $ 49.50.
