Electric guitar design
History
George Beauchamp invented the electric guitar or some may call the guitar, lap steel. Initially, electric guitars consisted primarily of hollow archtop acoustic guitar bodies to which electromagnetic transducers had been attached.

Electric guitars were originally designed for a variety of luthiers, electronics enthusiasts, and instrument manufacturers, in various combinations. Some of the first electric guitars, then essentially hollow body adapted acoustic instruments, used tungsten pickups and were manufactured in the 1930s by Rickenbacker. In 1935, a Soviet scientist work separately from their Western counterparts was known to have produced a Russian guitar called "Guitar electromagnetic Kuznetsov." Was shown in a technology exhibition in Moscow, but development was halted since the Stalin regime was hostile to [citation needed] guitar music.
At least one company, Audiovox, built and could have offered an electric solid-body as early as mid-1930. Rickenbacher, later wrote a guitar Rickenbacker Electric offers cast aluminum, known as the pan or Pancake Guitar, beginning in 1933.
Another solid body electric guitar early was designed and built by musician and inventor Les Paul in early 1940, after working hours in the Epiphone factory. Your record of guitar (named it consisted of a simple 4×4 wood post with a neck attached to it and homemade pickups and hardware, with two detachable hollow body halves attached to Swedish the sides for appearance only) was patented and is often considered the first of its kind, although it shares nothing in the design of the hardware or with the solid body "Les Paul" model sold by Gibson.

In 1950 and 1951, electronics and instrument amplifier maker Leo Fender through his company, designed the first guitar commercial success of electric solid body with a single magnetic pickup, which was initially called "Esquire." The two-pickup version Esquire magazine was called the "Issuer". The bolt-on neck was consistent with Leo Fender's belief that the design of the instrument should be modular to allow profitable and consistent manufacturing and assembly, as well as simple repair or replacement.
In 1954, Fender introduced the Fender Stratocaster, or "Start." It is positioned as a luxury model and offers several product improvements and innovations in the Telecaster. These innovations include a body design of ash or alder double cut for mounting plates with an integrated vibrato mechanism (called a synchronized tremolo for Fender, thus beginning a confusion of terms that still continues) three single-coil pickups, and body comfort contours. Leo Fender is also credited with developing the first commercially successful electric bass called the Fender Precision Bass, introduced in 1951.
Gibson
Main article: Gibson Guitar Corporation
Gibson, like many guitar manufacturers, had long offered semi-acoustic guitars with pickups, and previously rejected Les Paul and his "record" of electricity in the 1940's. In apparent response to the Telecaster, Gibson introduced the first Gibson Les Paul solid-body guitar in 1952 (though the Les Paul was actually brought in only late in the design process for setting Fine design experts and the almost complete for marketing approval). Les Paul Features include a solid mahogany body with carved top Maple (much like a violin and guitar Gibson archtop hollow body electric above) and the binding edge contrast, two single-coil "soapbar" pickups, a 24 "mahogany neck with traditional scale stuck in the" set "neck joint, binding the edges of the fingerboard, and a head tilt back with three machines heads (tuners) to one side. Early models had a design of the combination bridge and trapeze-tailpiece that in fact, designed by the same Les Paul, but he did not greatly and was discontinued after the first year. Gibson then developed the Bridge Tune-o-matic and particular stop tailpiece, adjustable vibrato design that has endured. In 1957, Gibson had made the last significant change to the Les Paul as we know it today – the humbucker or humbucker. The humbucker, invented by Seth Lover, was a double-coil pickup that had two windings connected out of reverse phase and the wound, with to remove the 60 cycle hum associated with single-coil pickups, as a byproduct, however, also produces a distinctive "softer" tone that attracts many guitarists. The more traditional design and style solid-body Gibson instruments contrasts with modular designs Leo Fender, with the differentiator Most notable is the manner of establishing the scale neck and neck (Gibson-24.75 "Fender" 25.5 "). Each design has its own merits. To this day, the basic design of many-body electric guitar sound available today are derived from the original designs – the Telecaster, Stratocaster and Les Paul.
Vox
In 1962, Vox introduced the pentagonal Phantom guitar, originally in England, but soon after made by EKO of Italy. We followed a year later by the teardrop-shaped Mark VI, the prototype was used by Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones. Vox guitars also experimented with onboard effects and electronics. The Tear won a price for its design. In mid-1960 as the sound of electric 12-string guitar became popular, Vox introduced the Phantom XII and Mark XII electric 12 string guitars. Vox produced many more traditional 6 and 12 string electric guitars in both England and Italy.
GuitarOrgan
In 1966, Vox introduced revolutionary, but a problem GuitarOrgan, a phantom guitar electronics VI of internal organs. The mechanism of activation requires a plectrum especially completing cable connections to each fret circuit, resulting in a very large and unwieldy neck. John Lennon was given in an attempt to ensure support, but This never panned out. According Up-Tight: The Velvet Underground story, Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones also tried one, when asked if the Velvet "Worked" his answer was negative. The device never became popular, but it was a precursor of modern guitar synthesizer.
Other guitars
Also non-wood materials were used. Travis Bean, and Kremer-necked guitars made of aluminum. Danelectro used cardboard bodies. Also guitars with plasic body and carbon have been made in the past. Gittlen guitar was a guitar design made in the 8os. 1991 saw the introduction of the first guitar designer Jol Dantzig design truly viable hybrid-electric acoustic guitar. The instrument, called the duotone, was conceived while he was in Danzig Hamer Guitars. (Dantzig was also the designer of the first string bass 12.) Adapted by players like Ty Tabor, Stone Gossard, Elvis Costello and Jeff Tweedy, the duotone was a complete "duplex" tool that could change the acoustic and electric tones. Recently there have been many entries in the hybrid category (capable of both acoustic and electric tones) Taylor T5 including Michael Kelly "Hybrid", the Parker Fly and Crowdster Anderson. In the 90's band Neptune began construction of the strange looking guitar Third metal bridge built options. A precursor of this type of guitar is the Pencilina. Linda Manzer Pikasso guitar designed with multiple neck.
