Guitar Hero Versus Real Guitar Lessons
On March 14, 2008, the media and a swarm of fans gathered to watch a child 16 years old, from Minnesota called Chris Chike perform on stage. Although everything was in place for this monumental night in rock and roll, on closer inspection that something was wrong. Unlike most debauched rock legends Chris had an intense affair, reserved in his face and throwing himself against the frenzied fans, he was staring at a large monitor.
The reason for this anomaly is that the young man was not, in fact, a musical genius but introverted teenager spent too much time on your game console, which was not making music, but playing a game called Guitar Hero. Chris was breaking the world record for the highest score ever on a single track and the masses care illustrate how deeply embedded the game is on the global culture. This article examines the phenomenon cultural and compares it to real guitar lessons.
Guitar Hero works on the basis of a guitar player using imitation connected to a game console that displays images on the screen. Imitation guitar looks much like a Fisher Price toy for children and has six buttons of different colors on it. Images displayed on the TV show a representation of the colored buttons along a staff that swell when they reach a certain point, the player must hit the corresponding colored button in command.
Many diehard fans of the game I will defend to the death that need musical talent to succeed, what you might say, why do not apply yourself to real guitar lessons? However, there is something to say in his defense. As there are similar skills used in reading musical notes and the transfer of such images, whether of a symbol or color-oriented, physical movement. The continuous movement of the musical staff offers an exercise in sight reading a challenge.
The bad news for those addicted to GH is that this is where the musical importance thin ends. Whatever guitar backing track you are using if you would make the game needs the real guitar tuition should not be 132 different color buttons. You also have to press the buttons hard enough to make a sound and be the size of their fingers, while negotiating their way around six selector controls. Guitar lessons break this process into pieces manageable.
So what can you do when looking to transition between the two forms? The best way is for multimedia guitar lessons or guitar tuition. These are the lessons of a gradual transition from basic chords all the way to advanced solos. It takes time, patience and commitment, which could explain why so many people are taking the easier option of simulation on guitar lessons.
The concern of the musical fraternity when GH is not so much with adults who play a bit when I get home from work, but with young people to meet their musical needs by simulation rather than create. Guitar lessons and guitar lessons are so easy to fix, but still young people are returning to their desks instead of bonding with your instrument.
No real comparison between a musical value simulation game console and a guitar lesson, but some skills are transferable. Hand-eye coordination is a feature of many video games yet you would never consider a racing game a simulation of driving an F1 car. guitar lessons is an important step learning how to become a rock legend and is available in many forms, but Guitar Hero is not one of them.
