Dual Overdrive
Grand Prix does not shift to overdrive and is stalling?
I am driving a Grand Prix and about a week and a half ago, I had an oil change. I noticed after the oil change that something was different when driving the car. It was not shifting into overdrive when I was going down the highway, but it didn’t increase the RPM’s at all. The car has dual exhaust and one of the mufflers fell off last Thursday. Yesterday, when going to work, it seemed to all of a sudden lose all power while going down the highway, but then it came right back. Well, last night I was driving home and it continued to stall. The service engine light and check gauges light came on. It instantly lost all RPM. I would let it sit for a few minutes, start it up and go again, then it would stall. I had to do this for about 10 miles and it took me 45 minutes to get home.
Any ideas on what is going on? If so, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
Will the transmission fluid impact the stalling?
have you checked the trans fluid to see if its full also check engine oil if low on the trans fluid refill and try it and try to find out if it set a code
