Are New Worthington Tanks Pressurized?
I just bought one of these 20 lb new worthington tanks. I know it doesnt have any propane in it but i was wondering if it has some air pressure in it to protect the tank from moisture during the shipping proccess. This is especially important because im taking this taking and cutting it open to make a Hank Drum. The first thing i have to do is completely remove the valve from the top, and i dont want someone to find me with the valve stuck in into my face…. Any info would be nice.
If it is a brand new tank it will have a little air in it. Open the bleeder screw on the side of the valve to remove any air. Then pull the service valve. If there was ever any propane in it you would have to remove the valve and let it air out before cutting.
